GALA:

GALA is the largest international representative body for the translation and interpretation industry; it was created in 2002 by 15 companies from 12 countries in four continents. Its creation reflects the internationalisation and, at the same time, globalisation of the industry, which enables progress for the company through teamwork, cooperation between members, etc.

This association provides its members with a common forum for dealing with a range of questions and finding innovative solutions, promoting the industry and presenting the most efficient face to the outside community.

This not-for-profit association of translators was formed in Washington DC in December 2005 to provide mutual support in translation, editing and correcting medical and scientific texts in Spanish. The Association's main objective is to extend the sector's quality and professional rigour throughout all Spanish speaking countries.

Common Sense Advisory is one of the largest global translation, interpretation and localisation consultancies. Its business model is based on analysing the large companies it advises in order to help them grow and achieve their objectives. Madrid Convention Bureau

The Madrid Convention Bureau is a not-for-profit body created by the city council in cooperation with a group of public and private companies from the sector in order to promote Madrid as a venue for domestic and international events and to provide technical and official support for such events. Since 2008, the Bureau has been a department of the Madrid Municipal Promotion Company. It currently has some 200 associates.

The Madrid Convention Bureau is available to help organisers of events, meetings and incentive trips to ensure that any event in the city runs perfectly and to promote Spain's capital as a venue for such events.

FEGILT

FEGILT, The Spanish Federation of Globalization, Internationalization, Localization, Translation and Interpretation Companies. Represent the translation industry before the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ Organisations, CEOE, and the State Administration.

The aim of FEGILT is to federate all sectoral and/or territorial associations related to the translation, interpreting and internationalization industry and to assist in business communication abroad to promote Spanish exports. FEGILT was founded under the Spanish Act 19/1977, on April 1st, regulating the right to trade unions and employers’ organizations on September 15th 2006.

All companies certified by UNE-EN 15038 or in the process of doing so can freely enter the sectoral association ACT CALIDAD, whose articles of association were adapted to the Act 19/1977, of April 1st , regulating trade union and employer organization associations, on March 4th 2011, registered at the Spanish Ministry of Labour under file number 19022 on 9 March 2011, with 24 companies in the Founding Group.

ACT CALIDAD invites all companies in the trade, whether national or international, to join forces in fundamental aspects to promote and defend the interests in the Spanish market for UNE-EN 15038 certified companies with civil insurance. ACT CALIDAD is a member of the European Union ACT and a corporate member of the Spanish standardisation association AENOR.

ATA – The American Translation Association

ATA, founded in 1959, is the largest professional association of translators and interpreters in the U.S. with over 11,000 members in more than 90 countries. ATA's primary goals include fostering and supporting the professional development of translators and interpreters and promoting the translation and interpreting professions.
