SeproTec participates in TEDxCibeles 2012junio 13th, 2012 | Posted by in Interpretación
On June 2nd, TEDxCibeles was held in Madrid, an event that brings together the great minds of our time to share their knowledge and experience of the world with us. But what is “TED”? TED is a nonprofit organization that advocates for positive change in society through the transmission of great ideas that foster sustainable growth and development. It truly is a kind of Aristotelian school of the future, where a team of scholars – scientists, writers, thinkers, Nobel laureates and world leaders – tell us what they know, each in 18 minutes at a time.
This year, the most highly anticipated speakers were Juan Verde, adviser to Barack Obama and Finn Kydland, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2004, who closed his speech with a glimmer of hope about the future of the Spanish economy: “Now we know about the problems and now there´s the opportunity to do something about it. If the right things are done or reasonable policies are carried out, then Spain should do well in the long run.” Nevertheless, the rest of the presentations did not fail to surprise us and proved to be very constructive: Nuria Pérez with her “Teach a Talent”, Andrew Stanton and “The keys to a good story”, “The power of vulnerability” by Brené Brown. If you lost them, you can find all the videos online at TED.com.
SeproTec was the company selected by TEDxCibeles to provide all the simultaneous interpretation for the event. Our company provided both the interpreters for the English <> Spanish interpretation and the technical equipment for simultaneous interpretation. It was a fantastic experience!
If you believe there is another way to learn and grow, do not lose sight of this event! We’ll see you at TEDxCibeles 2013.
